Terms & Conditions



1.  All manner of fair rod and line angling shall be permitted on club waters.

2.  All members must at all times carry their yearly membership card and valid rod licence when fishing and must produce on request from any Bailiff (club or official), Riparian Owner, or his official, gamekeeper or any other club member.

3.  All yearly membership cards must have a passport size photograph of the member attached inside the front cover and must be handed over to the club secretary in order to receive any club exchange permits.

4.  All exchange permits must be returned within 48 hours, when membership books will be returned, failure to do so will result in the offending member(s) being refused the use of the permits at a future time.

5.  All game fish taken and measured less than ten (10) inches from the nose to the fork or cleft of the tail shall be returned to the water immediately whether alive or dead.

6.  No more than six (6) brown trout to be killed on Club waters by any member in any one day; there is no limit on salmon or sea trout taken on rod and line. No more than six (6) brown trout may be killed on any club organised game fish competition (as per year fixture list).

7.  A 'Fish killed on club waters' report must be sent to the Secretary by every member by the 27th November of each year irrespective of a nil return or not.

8.  Angling on the lake is permitted from official Fishing Pegs ONLY.

9.  Pegs must NOT be modified in any way whatsoever, by unauthorised persons.

10.  Fishing is only permitted within the confines of the peg i.e. do not cast into adjacent or opposite pegs

11.  All members must approach the water by recognised access routes and must not trespass on the land, cause damage to any property, crops or trees, take dogs, or use insulting behaviour to the property owner or officials in whose vicinity he may be fishing.

12.  Rights of Way and footpaths shall be maintained whilst fishing.

13.  All members must not take up a position within twenty yards of a fellow angler unless it is with his consent, on an authorised club match this rule applies to a running water venue only.

14.  Club waters are not be used for competitions or organised matches without the approval of the Committee.

15.  Size limits do not count on a coarse match in which case a keep net is allowed to impound the fish however, trout are not are not to be impounded at any time.

16.  Registration and pools paid for all coarse matches shall be completed by 8:30am with the draw for pegs taking place at 9:00am.

17.  Fishing times to be determined by the Competition Secretary prior to peg draw.

18.  Only ONE (1) rod is to be used at any one time, (during Club Competitions) however anglers may have as many rods as they wish assembled as per Angling Trust rules.

19.  A maximum of TWO (2) rods may be used by any angler (not Match fishing).

20.  Keep nets are allowed, but no fish over the weight of 2lbs are to be retained at any time except in official matches where Carp friendly nets must be used, all Carp over 5lb must be weighed immediately and released. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD GAME FISH BE RETAINED.

21.  All anglers are to be in possession of a landing net and hook disgorger when fishing any venue.

22.  Proper care must be taken at all times when handling fish by keeping stress down to a minimum.

23.  Night Fishing is allowed for Members ONLY.

24.  Members wishing to night fish shall inform a Club Committee member prior to commencing fishing - This is a Safety Requirement.

25.  Night Fishing shall cease at midnight prior to any Club competition - match dates are published on Club FB page and hard copies are available.

26.  Private vehicles are not allowed on the banks of ponds; car parks are provided so use them.

27.  All non-native species caught must NOT be returned to water (as per EA guidelines).

28.  No more than one kilo of ground bait or 500g of boilies may be used per session per angler.

29.  No angler should wander away from his peg and leave his hook(s) in the water disciplinary action will follow to anyone who does.

30.  Junior members must be supervised at all times whilst night fishing. The club and its committee will not accept the responsibility for the supervision of junior members.

31.  NO LITTER to be left at any peg or anywhere else at any venue. Please use litter bins provided. No tins are to be taken to the pegs, use proper bait containers. Any person caught leaving litter will be subject to disciplinary action. CLEAR UP AFTER YOU.

32.  The use of bait boats is banned unless specific permission is given by the committee.

33.  Any member is caught illegally stocking or removing fish from the club waters will be reported to both the Police, the Environment Agency and DEFRA (if applicable) with view to prosecution.

34.  Any person found to be cheating in matches or sweeps will be brought in front of the Committee and dealt with.

35.  ALCOHOL AND DRUGS ARE BANNED FROM ALL CLUB WATERS. IF YOU'RE CAUGHT YOU WILL BE BANNED FOR LIFE.
